I want to replace the front belts in my 1970 walkthru with some inertia reel belts, they must have the receptor on a solid bar or rail so as to keep the walkthru clear.
What have you got?
Are these available new(seen others without solid receiver part)?
Am going to Slough so could pick up there.
cheers Paul

You should be able to re use your own or they sometimes come on a modern styled rigid cable.....

Its quite simple to open them up (or they are on mine) and swap the receptor across......

VW Heritage sell new inertia belts, in a variety of colours.

You can get them for the front cab (walkthrough), which have the receptor on a 'bar', or they do rear ones which have the receptor on a piece of belt attached to the fixing bracket.

About £40 each.

I was told a while back that you can get these from Halfords.
Never checked but came from a well know VW parts supplier who told me that they only sell the same make.

thanks for t5e pointers.
Aaron have you any photos of what you have done to your belts as this sounds quiet interesting.
cheers Paul
