Hi all,

I have been looking for a VW camper for some time now, doing a lot of research and narrowed my search down to an early bay. Then found this great site :D Ideally looking for something up to £6k, right hand drive, solid bodywork chassis and a good runner. Not at all fussed on appearance of bodywork or interior (doesn't have to have one!) as would like something I can get my teeth into and add value to. Has anyone got anything that fits the bill that they'd like to sell me :) ?

Hi, got mine on ebay at the mo,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Camper-Early-bay-71-MOT-TAX-Something-special_W0QQitemZ280402746728QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item41494e5d68&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
just needs an engine and body work doing but is ok to use for now as is.Rock solid under side and all mechanical work done, £1000s spent on it so far. mot and taxed. looking for £5000 or have a bid if it goes for less!

Cheers guys.

'71 bay' am watching yours on the bay but your a long way from me and lack of engine is a bit daunting for a newbie even with your kind offer of help fitting.

Steve, i'll see you at the weekend! Ring you later to confirm when convenient.

I wouldnt worry about a lack of an engine in these beasts in fact often It can prove to be a godsend rather than pissing about with a POs work or an extremely tired motor get a new mexico engine with a guarantee it can also give you an obvious bargaining chit

Thats my thought, i was going to bang an old 16 in of ebay or somewhere but thought it a bit wrong to sell it for more with a dodgy engine and funds are tight so i can't afford to put a new one in, thats why i put it up without the engine. still a bargain though.

Thank you :) Certainly do have AA, just need to upgrade to relay and home start :lol: Journey home will be ~300 miles so should be a good shakedown!
