Really nice work there dude! Respect to you for the outdoor resto! 8)

Cheers dude!

I do wish I had a garage and it does get me down from time to time but just gotta wrap up warm and when it's really bad I just remove a panel, take a four pack in me shed and work away with the heater on 8)
Hence a couple of panels already painted!

Really enjoying this thread, just started working on mine and it looks to be in the same condition so the pics and info are a great help.

Keep up the good work :)

Cheers

Mike

Stripped down my OG door cards as hardboard backing is totally buggered and really wanted to reuse them so here goes!! 8)

Old cards are rotten but not to bad for 40 year old

Got some new hard board and cut new door cards out

cut out new cards and stuck og to new backing!! Then a bloody good clean and all done

Bit wrinkly at the bottom due to old board being totally gone but at least i've managed to save them :D :D :D

Well Today I braved the mot and even though it failed I came away happy!!

After nearly 14 months of a driveway resto with cutting, welding, re wireing, engine re furb the main thing I didn't touch as they looked ok were the track rod ends and guess what she failed on :?: The f in track rod ends    oh, and imbalanced front brakes!!

Reasons for refusal

001, drag link end ball joint has excessive play
002, steering locking device missing (split pin in drag link bolt)
003, offside outer track rod end excessive play
004, offside inner track rod end excessive play
005, nearside inner track rod end excessive play
006, steering pivot point has excessive play
007, front brakes imbalanced

Not to bad if you ask me!!!! The garage even let me watch/do the mot with him and marked up and explained the reasons for the fail!!

Might be expensive at £54.85 for the mot but very nice bunch of lads! all asking, looking around the bus!

One of the lads even has a crossover and was looking around her for ideas!!

Next job is parts to order and back under the bus at the weekend!

Well done!! Good work. Out of interest, which panels did you use for the arch repair?

So just got back from testers and i now have a broken down van!

The bloody thing wouldn't start on the ramp

Luckily this was after they handed me a bit of paper saying ....... PASSED

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I'm so happy!!!

Next problem is the van is now 'hot starting' ? basicaly batterys fully charged but wont turn over!!

Not to worry as i can now register it with the DVLA!!

Drained steering box fluid or lack off  and replaced :D

Also drained gear box and renewed oil!!

And last of all fitted new starter after breaking down on mot ramp :(

Front screen and side windows out tomorrow to see how bad the seals are. Can see some more welding coming :x
