i have looked at all your drive-away awnings and some look great but what setup do you peeps have for just a couple of nights/long weekend.
i find the awning tooooooo much of a faff for short stops so i have a sun canopy but i find with me,the boss, two boys and Dave there is not enough room especially factoring in the cooking and where to sit to eat, reckon the westy interior's a little cramped for all the above especially if the weather's................ CRAP!
so what do you guys do.

sorry if it is in the wrong section, please move if so.

regards.

I used a gazebo with a 1second tent for bags ect, did 2weeks in Cornwall like this with 3 kids

I now have a Khyam Screenhouse which gives a bit more protection and we can sleep in it should we have a ill child

i use a pop up annexe ...exactly the same as a quick erect tent only it`ll sleep four with ease. we use it for myself and the lad to sleep in and do all the cooking in or near it too......i have a shed full of awnings of all sizes but always seem to use this as its so quick

Same issue for me - putting a tent up for a weekend seems to defeat the purpose of having the van, but I need the psychological comfort of being able to sit under something!

Sparky, what sort of awning is that? Exactly what I'm looking for

Can't beat the Kyham motordome series of awnings. No sodding around spending ages with poles etc. Put them up like an umbrella, peg out, sorted. Not cheap but worth the money, personal opinion of course.

I've been on the lookout for a sun canopy for ages but everywhere is sold out of reasonably priced ones and have been all year!!
I like the look of your one Sparkwig 8)

We used to have one of these off eBay...

But we changed it as it used to hold the water if it rained so we bought one from JK with a domed canopy, loads better plus it's the whole length of the van, haven't got a pic of it attached to the van sorry but it's one of these...

If I'm flying solo then this is all I need.

However, if the family tag along then the awning has to be used.
