I've got hold of another front beam for my 1970 westy and i plan to weld in some CSP adjusters. Which would be better arc welding or mig welding?

If it was me, I'd go for the mig.
Only because Im **** at stick welding  I'd end up with more weld on the teeth (haven't got a steady hand) unless I've had a drink.
And you don't want to start welding in adjusters when your half cut do ya ;)

For strength of wed its doesnt really matter either way. IMHO MIG is more controllable so there less chance of clogging the splines. I think that people like creative even use TIG which is what i think i may use when i narrow and lower my L&P beam purely due to the control of the weld.

I'm quite lucky that i'm a dab hand at both types, just wondered what would be more suitable. got a mig in the shed so thats what i'll use  cheers dudes

Hi mate if you need to look at the postion of the adjusters for welding ,give me a shout im in ipswich and have not fitted my beam yet .
