Well impressed with our new hammock

We've just bought one of the Bluebird Custom hammocks for the front of our bay and must say I'm very impressed with it. We used it recently on holiday in Cromer and not only was the extra storage space useful it was a godsend one very windy night when we had to move my 5 year old down from the pop up to stop the noise. The quality is very good and it was very easy to fit. Also found some mushroom head grommets from Halfords to cover up the holes drilled in between uses.

sounds good and need to get one of these - though I *think* I might already have the brackets - do you know if this will work with original fittings as well?

Don't think it will. I believe that the design has evolved over the years. Mine has a couple of sturdy expanding poles with a pin at each end. When you compress the poles the pins are located in the holes you need to drill in the pillars. I think the earlier and original versions had an angle fitted to the end of the pole which then fitted into a bracket fitted onto the pillars. Happy to take a picture or 2 at the weekend if you'd like

have you got any pics of the bunk,
the early devon cab bunks were sort of telescopic so i'm just wondering
if i can use one of these to fit in the original holes.

Get the pics up, i've been thinking about 1 of these now we have the baby (hence why i'm also thinking about og seats) and it might mean we actually sleep in the van, not a tent or the awning :lol: :lol:
