Hi girls and guys :)
Wonder if any 1 can help me,I have a 1971 earlybay westfalia and I just got myself the full roof bed for it,it's an original roof bed and has the head section which folds out then supports up,,,but what I'm looking for is the support bracket which holds that head peice up,it's a bracket which is a thin rod with 2 pin type bits each end that simply fold over to support the head section,,any idea where I can buy this section from?

Excuse my ignorance but did they do these for early bay's? I thought that they were for the late bay 'continental' conversions but then Faux produced some (rather excellent) copies that fit early bays.

I just thought I'd ask the question incase this is actually the case and there's a difference meaning that the bed wont actually fit your bus !

Faux sells them. I've just bought a kit from him

Every days a school day !

:D

The original ones will fit in an Earlybay but they do not fit as they should. The head board is slightly too wide which fouls the rubber seal. If you set it up with the metal Bas support as it should be the roof supports hit the metal side supports of the bed.
Both RustyLee and me re-designed the bed to fit in and early bay the way it would in a continental.

Our beds have a longer head board and the side brackets are in a different place.

Lee does the metal work so can sometimes do spares for people who just want odd parts.

(Thanks for the compliments guys, the main thing for me and Lee is that it enables people to enjoy their buses with their families)
