Westy roof bunk bars??

ive just got my first vw westy over from the states and its come with two bars in it. The previous owner told me were for a bunk in the roof but im lost as to where they hang or if they are even for a westy? They have no canvas between them they are just two bars with a lip either end that looks like it should hook somewhere? can anyone advise?

They sound like the bars that fit between the driver and passenger doors for front bunk, you should find some brackets on pillar near seatbelt mounting and just above the dash either side of windscreen.

The roof hammock is a bigger affair with large brackets
