So there I am working away on my computer in the spare room, when all of a sudden I hear the dogs going mad downstairs, which usually means someones at the door. Down I trot to be greeted at the door by a delivery man. 'Fantastic' thinks me, the door mirrors I ordered off eBay over 2 weeks ago. Sadly, alas no, mirrors it wasn't. Instead it was this;

My new, 1969 one owner from new van!

Obviously to get the van off we needed to unload the bottom shelf of the transporter, which meant the fully race tuned Lotus Exige underneath had to be unloaded. Imagine my shock when the crazy Italian transport driver gave me the keys and told me to take it for a spin! :shock: It truely is one awesome piece of machinary, only one problem though. I'm by far the smaller side of 6ft, and I'm fairly slim, yet I struggled like never before to get in and out of the bloody thing. Definately no good if you're a big bloke. Here's a pic anyway;

No rear view is a right ball ache! :lol:

I then spent the next hour helping the transport driver reload the van, and then very carefully reverse out of the road. Full credit to him for his driving skills! :lol:

So to the beast itself. The bod is a bit battered, but the chassis is completely rust free. No underseal, no belly pans, and no rust! Just what I needed after me and Kev spent 5 days solid welding up the chassis on Nic's bus. The interior is in good condition too.

Anyways, I'll let the pic's do the talking;

Finally to the interior. Check out the nice original cab area;

And finally the rear load area, with another nice treat inside;

I'm a happy bunny at the mo. :lol:

Im a jealous bunny and you got a spin in that exige :shock: i'd call that christmas.

A bay and a vespa, you lucky man, add one of those three wheeler apes and I would be very happy.

Get in my son , Lovin the Vespa , But your bay is the nuts my son . Proper PVP now dude 8) Is it gonna be at Peppercorn ? Much gotta be done ?? :wink:

Single slider with one bodged in window I'm afraid. :lol:

The bloke I bought it off said it was a non runner and needed a full brake overhaul. True, the brakes are shot to bits (the handbrake is all that's there), but all the parts to fix it are included.

As for it being a non runner, well it's now a runner! Half hour, some petrol, some oil, a battery, a spanner, a screwdriver and a new ground strap were all that was needed. Get in!

As for Peppercorn, I don't think that's a likelyhood. Nic's bus still takes priority, plus the whole MOT, registration, getting plates etc etc wouldn't see it being legal on time anyway.

thats really nice! is it italian?
so we all at yours this weekend to slam that bad boy on the floor!

loving the scooter too!

I'm tempted to hold onto this one for a while as it is so super solid. Plans at the mo are to get it MOTed, registered and legal. Add a set of wheels, possibly some slammage and drive it. Obviously though the first job is to get rid of all those bloody camping stickers.

Yeah it's Italian. From Milan to the Isle of Sheppey, what a comedown for the poor thing! :D
