Right doods & Doodettes 8)

Im looking at changing my tyres to a lower profile, so that I can drop it down a touch  Going to go back to 2 splines at the rear (only for a while as I will be getting them creative adjustable rear plates 8) )and lower on the front (weedeater beam narrowed 3.75")

Currently I have 205/70/15 whitewalls all round.
Now i was thinking of going down the route of front 165/55/15 & rear 175/65/15

These are to go on stock wheels, so what do you think? Good tyre choice? rubbish choice? I would really appreciate your feedback.

This was my van with good 2 spline drop  i prefer it that way I think.

Dude i Think i like it the way it is at the moment :D but you do like tinkering  Why not go the other way and put it back to stock

As per the pic description I was referring to the 2 spline drop  please keep up at the back!

That does help dood, nice one 8) I just want tomake sure that the tyres dont look to skinny on the stock wheels so its either 165 or 175 on the front i think 8)

Have you had a look at the efect this will have on your geering, the new tyres are a lot smaller in diameter than what you have, you could be in head cooking terittory, if your not carefull.

This is a very good point that I have considered, but i dont do much high speed stuff ( I say high speed, i mean over 60  ) and should be okay.

I think Easy's wheels are 15". Therefore if he's dropping from a 205/70/15 to a lower profile tyre the rolling diameter will probably be more similar to a that of a "factory" bus wheel/tyre combo (14" wheel). So all should be good...

Correct? :?:

Trust me I looked long and hard and took advise before I went for my tyre combo.

The rears on a 15" didn't really affect the gear ratio on a stock box and the fronts did alter the speedo rating but that could easily be worked out. The 176 65's on the front sat really nice on the 4.5" width 15" stock rim but more importantly you still had a fair amount of rubber on the road.

I didn't fancy going with any less with a van with 2 kids in the back and fully loaded with camping gear. Skinny tyres look good but are a death trap on a van.

Nice one dood 8) It pays to take your time 8)

I was running 165/50 15 on the front of my bus, and the side wall of one of the tyres totally ripped. Made me think twice about running with them again, obviously not meant for the weight.

Leon showed me this tyre wall, looked a right mess........

looks cool dude. think you should stick some pics up of th overall view :motion: hows it lowered at the front?? wouldnt mind a 2 spline (ill be going adjustable on the back) height on my crewcab but can only afford adjusters at the minute and dont fancy ball joint bottoming out :evilgrin0010: .
