Further to my last get-to-know-you threads, I was wondering what everyone does for a living?

I volunteered my time at my friend's VW repair shop ~14hrs a day for a year for fun, and to learn from one of the local masters. We did both water and air cooled repair. He was my dad's age (late 50s) and had been open since the 1970s.

Now I'm inside nearly all day everyday in a university research lab trying to find out how/why certain types of breast cancer don't die when we treat them with drugs. Hopefully this summer I'll find a way to get one of my buses to where I live now so I can try for a monthly weekend vacation away from the city.

I've worked in the electrical industry for almost 30yrs! Initially as a contracting spark & now office based looking after contracts

Why didn't I buy my bus years ago !?

I've been in the gas industry for 10 years.

I've been laying/repairing/connecting and generally doing whatever necessary to gas pipes and pipelines.

Recent promotion to manager means that now I stay a bit cleaner.
