I really need to sort out some seats, even on short journeys when i get out my back aches.
The comfiest position i find is slouched over the steering wheel like a white van man but its not a very good idea.
Never thought of Land (range) rover seats will have to have a look at them when i go over to mates Friday (he owns an early range rover and a disco), might also be cheaper then Saab seats

Quick update!
The wife is a bit unsure about paying stupid money for 2nd hand seats so in her wisdom ( ) she has rung Cobra (there local) and spoke to a lady there about some seating ideas. She was told that they sell some seats to a local man who is looking into the idea of fabricating something to allow an easier fitment of there seats into campers. And also Cobra are sending us some info on all there seats as they have some that aren't yet listed on the website. They are also looking into making some 'Retro' looking seats and designs as they are having alot of enquires just lately.
Dont know any prices just yet but they have given us the email address of the man trying to design the camper fitment so if we get a reply i'll post it for everyone to view and discuss

i think i know where theres a nice set of MX5 tan leather seats forsale but they are in NI.

i also had mx5 tan leather seats in my bug, good thing with them is there only bolted in with 4 bolts each and all the sliders and adjusters come connected so 4 holes and your away, fully adjustable seats, find an eunos and they come with speakers in the headrests so no dodgy speakers in the doors

find a good breakers and they will deffo have an mx5 or 2 in.i payed £50 for mine.oh and they come with the seat belts atached i think(well the bit you click in to)

I thought everyone drove theirs that way (I do)

Did you manage to find some replacement seats? If so, can you pass on any advice? I'm looking for some that can be fitted with minimal damage to the van. Did you find out which Saab seats would fit?

Rover 600 seats. Only used these as they were free from a car that was headed to the scrapper. took a couple of days to fit as I didn't want to vandalise the existing seat mounts so had to do some creative bracket fabricating. I made use of the random factory holes that already existed on the body. pretty comfy (I'm 6ft) with good side support.

These pics are from first fitment, they're both in now with trim panels fitted at sides.

I picked up a seat from ebay that has fitted perfectly!
It is from a Porsche Boxster, and it is the one I 'accidently' won for £30 on the day when no one else could access ebay! Only trouble is, it is going to be a nightmare trying to find a matching one for the passenger side!

Just won a pair of these on ebay with heating & electric controls PM incoming on how to fit them ;)

Get some pics up, i need to change my current seats (rover 200 sports) as they are to high so the wife cant touch the pedals, but dont want to go back to OG

Just won some 924 seats off the dreaded ebay, £43 for a complete set (front and rears) they have been re-covered at some point and to be honest the dont look nice (nothing a couple of covers wont fix) but if they allow the wife to be able to drive the van then over the winter they will be removed and re-covered to suit the interior.
Will update with pics when i pick them up

These are mine:

Collected them on Friday - note the unfortunate mis-spelling of Porsche ;)
Then search for current boxster electric heated seats for sale :D

Have you removed the og runners from the bay or spaced the porsche seats over them?
Thinking of removing my runners but unsure

I am planning to keep the og drivers side runners, the passenger side ones are already removed(more or less) as its a dormobile & they just hack them off at the factory
My intention is to remove the porsche runners (most of them at least), but leave enough so that the base height adjustment still works - not that I need it on the drivers seat ;) but I think it will actually make fitment easier.
It just so happens that the remaining porsche bracketry fits exactly in the og drivers seat runner so I think I can leave it behind.

I think yours will be simpler to fit as there is less going on underneath, not sure whether you can leave the og runner behind though.

Metro seats are great (for beetles too) as they are not crazy big (like saab seats etc) and they have simple flat runners (and cheap too!)
