hello , i was rebuilding the rear brake and wheel assembly on my 70 bay and i noticed that there was abit of wear on the wheel shaft , so i carried on and replaced the wheel bearings and seals , put everything back together and there is still abit of play in the wheel when i rock it top to bottom , so i now presume that it is the wheel shaft that is causing the problem, but after looking on the internet for a new one , i cant find one , does anyone know where i can buy one , thanks

There is supposed to be a little play on the rear wheel bearings. If they are tight when cold they will run over tight when hot and wear out very quickly.

i noticed that on mine, a bit of play and was considering replacing the bearings. I think i'll leave them alone, if it aint broke dont fix it??

I made the same mistake many years ago, replacing the rear wheel bearings only to discover the new ones had the same amount of play -and then looking up in the manual to see the tolerance is correct  The standard amount of play is quite noticeable and I seem to remember somewhere about 1.5mm or so at the rim cold. If the bearings are worn they will make a noise thats hard to miss.

hi thanks for the replys , its made me feel better haha, the only thing is the bus will be going in for the MOT soon and i dont want the tester to fail the bus on to much play in the wheel , i have replaced the innner and outer bearings and seals , and it still has a noticeable amount of play. so not sure what i should do :(
