No not the other half or some fluusey i met in the pub........

When i start my engine from cold all is fine but when i blip the throttle it sounds louder almost like it is blowing but when it is warm i.e. choke is off and then i blip the throttle all is quiet well if you can have a quiet aircooled.

Running a standard 16tp with stock carb oil bath airfilter and standard zorst.
When i removed engine last winter checked all fixings were tight and recently like 6 weeks ago pulled engine to refurb the Dynamo and checked again all was tight so what is the loud noise which goes away??
Should i investigate further or let sleeping dogs lay??

The zorst is about 3k miles old and van is kept in garage not that that has anything to do with it

Answers on a postcard to ..............

Regards.

Blipped both times in the garage, once when cold and then after choke off, setting the 34pict carb.

well it is still doing it but tonight i had a good look, had to take off the bumper and remove the rear valance then started the engine and it seemed to come from the offside exchanger to zorst joint.
so i tightened that joint good and tight then started the engine again, bugger me it only kept blowing so i assumed it was loose at the cylinder head/zorst so i then took off the rear tinware and all the pipe work  and had a look at the nuts and they are real tight so i started the van yet again and that's when i saw a puff of smoke from the joint where the preheat pipe leaves the silencer :? :?

is this common for a standard zorst to blow there??

it's at such awkward spot i cannot see for sure but it was not from the head or the xchanger joint so either the preheat joint or there must be a split in the zorst.
annoying really, the zorst has only done about 2k miles max but is 4yrs old and the van is in the garage all year round.

:( :( :( :(

If it is the exhaust its a good excuse to furnish your bus with a nice new VS model!
Mine will probably last longer than I will!
