My first car was MK1 Fiesta the key had snapped off in the ignition and the drivers door window could be pushed down!

I used to drive it without any keys just for a laugh!

My earlybay merchandise includes: 2 keys rings, 2 money boxes, wifes bag, 2 teeshirts, a hoody, wallet, an EB shaped USB pen drive (my favorite) various mugs, a 1 pint tankard, a clock.

So there is plenty of EB stuff out there. Of course, splitty stuff out-numbers it 10 to one, but look at the adverts on TV, the majority are with Bays (eg halifax and sainburys ads) so it does tell you something

One problem may be is that when people think of bays, they either don't know what one looks like, or only know of later bays. everyone i've spoken to don't know what splits are! we need more bay toys! and t-shirts

Here here! I know what u mean, every christmas or birthday i end up getting baught a loada split screen models and money boxes! Then a few months back i went into the O'neill shop and saw a load of the usual split money boxes but.... hiding in between them , one baywindow money box all on its own, couldn't believe my luck. Had to have it Thats the only place iv ever seen one.

TO THE O'NEILL SHOP EVERYONE!!!!!!!!lol

I have seen quite a few bay money boxes but they all had spare wheels on the front! Oh and most have a surf board on the top.

Now if only i could find one with a pop top in chianti red, early front indicators and big rear lights

We have various mugs with EBs all with silly names under them like "Tarty" "Sleepy" etc
A couple of T-Shirts
A pair of pictures of old scrapped EBs

Im glad that most people think vw campers are a "rust buckets" thats because they probably like to keep up with the joans's! (if you know what i mean) These are the ones saying, "oh they always break down" or "you can fit a porsche engine in that" I dont even try to explain to them how reliable they actually are and most things that do happen can be fixed on route with a basic set of tools. How my camper can fit in a normal parking space, unlike there big ugly caravan that sits in front of there livingroom all year. How I dont pay road tax and how my vehicles value never decreases.

aircooled vee dubs - "breakin the mould" :D :D

The both of mine break down

Admittedly the crewie was down to a bent push rod tube!
The westy has a new engine now so all should be ok..... Fingers crossed..... Touch Wood..... and all that malarky :)

Did you see top gear when they drove across africa? none of them wanted to admitted it but the beetle was the most reliable of all :)

I love top gear but it always winds me up that they hate the beetle. I loved that episode as they had to admit a beetle was best!
Someone needs to remind Richard Hammond the links with his beloved porsche.
