Sorry if this has been asked before, I did have a search but cannot find a good answer.

Can I put wide 5's on my early 71 bay? I know I will need adapters for the stud pattern but wondered about clearance as I guess they will push the wheels out a little. I am at stock height at present but intended to lower it just a little as it would probably look a bit odd stock. The wide 5's are a 5.5 rear and 4.5 fronts. Any advice would much appreciated.

Easier and possibly cheaper to just get normal narrow 5 stud wheels.

Plus it'd be better when lowered -clearance.

Other option if adapters cannot be done, would be a full hub and brake swap, which wouldn't be cheap - and unless upgraded to CSP etc, you'd be going from disc to drum up front.
