will late bay bell housing fit an early?

I used a conversion kit to convert my clutch to late bay style bearing and clutch. I knew as I froze the sleeve and whacked it in the bell housing it was never going to come out again. So guess what, just gone in my garage and there's a huge puddle of trans oil on the floor and all over the bottom of the engine SHIT!

Is it possible to just fit a late bay bell housing and attach to my early box/type 1 engine?

Yes, that will work -just get a later 002 with 'ears'

I've been told i'll also need to change the input shaft
