We have replaced the halfords 63 battery it's failing to turn the starter makes a wurring noise but it does not try to start. If you connect another car to it to jump start it starts first time.

The battery starts one of our other cars no problems the battery from that won't start the camper... If fact it's the original one we had in the camper, before that car broke down in the winter.

We have rebuilt the top end of the engine and changed the coil. ( old one makes no difference)

I have replaced the earth cable.

Any ideas ?

My guess would be the wire from battery to starter motor is providing too much resistance.

I think it will be a the resistance in the cable from igntion switch to starter as said above, so as said above you will need to fit a hot start relay, I had exactly the same thing on my van.
