I have a 1968 Californian, microbus, not lowered, with 195/75/14 tyres.
Just been to the local tyre dealer who reckons he can't get 75's but says 70's will be ok.
I don't know a lot about tyre sizes so I am asking for opinions on whether the 70's will be ok?
Any help would be gratefully received!

Personaly I wouldent use that size, I would go with a 185/14, wich is factory standard.

Goto Blackcircles.com and mail order your tyres. They come the next day usually and you can try various combinations of sizes on there web page to see what is available. The size of your original ones sound the same as my US ones when it came over, they were huge and like balloons!

The first number is the width of your tyre in mm, the second number is your tyre wall size but this number is a PERCENTAGE of the width. last number obviously wheel diameter.

I run 185X65X14 Falkens on the rear and they are great but a fair bit lower profile than my orig US ones.

hope this helps!
