ive been talking to a friend that makes and sells hoods for birds of pray, they look fantastic(made out of calf or kangaroo leather)

i asked if he could cover a bay steering wheel(if they come out with the same quality as the hoods i think they will look the dogs danglies 8)

he thinks he could do them for £100 to £120,i just wonderd if theres a market for this.im going to try and get an old bay steering wheel and get him to cover one and see what it looks like, first one could take a while to do so i dont want to give him mine

he said he could do several coloures and have mabee the spokes in a diff colour.

what do you think :?: :?: :?:

thats just what i thought araon, just need to lay my hands on an earlybay steering wheel

I seem to remember someone on VZi or Ebay offering refurbed steering wheels for bays with leather covers, they looked very nice especially with contrasting stitching.

I cant find your address to get it to you saying that have you moved yet?

thanxs araon

right ive now got a wheel that i think will be hear nxt week(thanxs to haveacamper) as soon as it gets hear il repair the wheel then pass it on to my bud and he will get straight on it.im on holls for a week ,the week after so hopefully when i get back we will have a sample

for any one interested....

the wheel is in the hands of the leather covering dude, the centre was totaly bare down to the metel so ive built it up with rubber to give a ruff shape.may not look to good in the midle due to this.but we will get the idea.

sounds cool 8)

I need a new wheel so would be interested in covering the old one instead if poss!

A cover for those berg type T bar shifters would be a good idea for those cold mornings, 8)

il look in to that j.i rang him yesterday and he is struggleing with the swan neck on the spokes,he is on his 4th plan.the prob is he needs to make a copy opf everything he tries, as if it works he needs to have the pattern,so he can reproduce it(something like that any way)

ive not seen what he has done so far, but he said he is very happy with the outer wheel and the join to the spokes,to be fair he did say he had a big order of hoods at the mo that he is trawling thru.il keep u all up to date as soon as i hear anything.

sorry its been along time since an update  ,id actualy forgot but bumped in to steve yesterday and he said he would try and finish for the new year.he has been busy and the fact that hes doing the first one for free to see if it works is slowing progress.
