Whilst waiting for my box to be rebuilt I'm stripping and regreasing the cv joints as new boots were needed on a couple anyhow..
The problem is each one seems to have been assembled differently. Putting them back together I'm proposing :-
Outer body - the single groove is to face away from the rubber boot (this is contrary to the John Muir book but in line with everything else I read)
Inner hub - the side with the raised lip will face towards the rubber boot
The question I have is for the cage, one side of this is slightly more chamfered / angled than the other. Should this face towards the boot or away from it ?
Many Thanks
