1969 Deluxe Early Bay Tintop For Sale - £13k ono

Okay - we had some work carried out on her by Jeff, who does the welding for Absolute VW in Castle Donington, after seeing the work he did on a mate's van. We got the battery tray replaced, in fact the rear lower right-hand corner as there was a kink in the metalwork left over from before we had...

1969 Deluxe Early Bay Tintop For Sale - £13k ono

Imported in 2006 from the US and bought by us later that year. Resprayed exterior due to sunbleaching, in original Savannah Beige. New interior in birch ply and red leatherette seats with white piping. It's a '69 deluxe early bay, so chrome strips all round, rear heated window (which needs...

Van restored for the big day...

Blimey Mike - I know I haven't been on the forums much recently (or at events for that matter!) but had to pop on to publicly say how bloody gorgeous you, err, I mean, the bus looks! I can't believe it's the same bus! Thumbs up to you and your daughter, and the 'finished for now' project :D...

Tin Top Early Bay for sale - £2,800

Hey people - just posting this for a chap who's storing his project bus up the road from us - he bought it a few years ago with the intention of doing it up, ran out of time (and inclination?) and it's just sitting there. He paid £2,800 for it and just wants his money back on it really. Reckons...

BLIMEY! JK have early bay doghouse front tinware in!

Cheeky muppet - it's already been powder coated :D It's just for a single port and we've just upgraded to a dual port so need a hole cutting in it. Didn't fancy butchering a good piece of tinware but think I'll have to now.

BLIMEY! JK have early bay doghouse front tinware in!

Yep - that only with the hole for the doghouse. As it arrived this morning I can tell you it's *not* the correct piece. As Tofufi points out it leaves big holes in the corners - I've attached a pic of the problem and of my original piece (on carpet, as every good engine should be) which I may...

What's the furthest you have ever travelled in your EB?

2,000 miles on our honeymoon with only one minor hiccup a couple of years ago :D France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg :) Almost made it to Italy (about 50 miles shy) but had to turn round as the heat was too much for the bus and the dog! 40 degrees!

BLIMEY! JK have early bay doghouse front tinware in!

Just thought I'd share the good news for those of you contempating hacking a piece of non-doghouse front engine tinware up so you can get your twin port ship-shape, JK have just started to stock repro doghouse tinware for splittied and early bays - and the good news is they're only a tenner...

WANTED: Early bay (69-70) rear tinware for a twinport

Cheers for the advice - I was coming to that conclusion but didn't want to hack apart a good bit of metal :( Are they rare on account of not many early bays having twinport engines in the past?

WANTED: Early bay (69-70) rear tinware for a twinport

Howdy folks - I'm after the engine bay closing panel which sits behind the fan housing, for a 69/70 twinport engine, so it needs the doghouse cut out. I have the singleport piece but getting the engine up to scratch so matching the twinport fan to the twinport engine (will be a lot better than...

1970 RHD Microbus Deluxe - testing the water

DON'T DO IT!! Mind you - a crewcab would be useful for lugging the beer ;) What's this about Kev selling hovis? Are you people mad? I'm not sure we're going to be able to make VF this year :( Just realised we've asked the solicitor to push for a house move on the 7th September - my timing...

what are the best engines to buy and where from

Hmm - I'm in a similar boat. My current engine is shot - peeing oil like there's no tomorrow (which there may not be for it at this rate). Someone recommended a Brazilian (engine, before anyone starts) - apparently you get 10,000 miles guarantee with them?

I've done a very bad thing...

Phew - for a minute there, reading your heading, I thought you were about to say you'd cut a whopping big hole in a tin-top's roof :) Welcome onboard!
