main beam switch

Hi
can anyone help, please?
Sidelights and dip lights work, the main beam flashes but won't stay on.
I've replaced the relay but still no joy.
Any pointers?

Is the new relay faulty?

Bad earth maybe ?

So am I right that the switch doesn’t lock, it’s actually the relay?

Yes, the relay latches.

It's probably a long shot, but check both main-beam circuit fuses too.

The switch just works the relay by earthing it so as it flashes then that part is working fine. If I remember correct there is a main feed from light switch going to high or low beam and a feed to the switch part . Does sound to me like faulty relay.

turns out it was a combination of a failed relay and a bad earth
