Hey folks. Well a fair few of us have restored our buses or are restoring so lets see what you started with and what you have today. This is my bus before and after. The first pic is hiding rust, paper mache, crud etc etc and now after years of restoration this is what she is now. Shes not perfect but shes good 🤙.

That's an amazing transformation! What is the timeline and was it all your own work?
Hey Blue and cheers. I'm thinking on a time scale if i cut out the time it took to save up for the parts etc etc then from the first pic to the second, she took about 8 and a half years to get to that standard but there is always something to do on them so its always on going ha. The first 10 years of owning her though she was actually my daily driver but every M.O.T was like what's she going to fail on this time and she would fail all the time but i would have the necessary work done to get her passed for another year. I think it was 2011's M.O.T where she failed on welding and a light not working or something like that and also noticed a crack in the drivers seat rail and i thought right that's it enough is enough its time for a full restoration and so it began then. As for the work. The welding and respray were done by a garage in stages like the first year was the underneath and sorting that out. She was on a rotisserie, sand blasted and welded where necessary then later it was the body panels and so on. Alot of things like reassembly, interior, finishing etc and various other jobs was done by me and even now I'm thinking could it be improved ha . In the future though she will need a respray i think and I'm going to do it myself. Hopefully by then il have my own place to do it. We shall see.🤙.

Fair play, looks great from the pictures

I started with a painted rolling shell with a bunch of parts boxes, the roof was just bolted down, no tent, transmission hanging off the back.

I spent the first year working on the electrical, mechanical and drivetrain, subi swap. Scrubbing the whole underside and painting, and last winter was building the cabinets, solar, poptop restoration, now we are going to use it
