    1972 factory Hi-Top **** now sold *****

As an update, I got a new MOT on Saturday, 14th July, she went straight through. The Mot tester commented that he could tell the chassis had money spent on it and was impressed with the condition - I suppose that is what you get for £3500 of work!

***** van now sold. ******** We are moving over to the USA later this year and regrettably must sell my van which is in the process of being converted to a camper. KOU 702L is a right hand drive 1972, crossover, factory Hi-Top, and started life as a panel van, so has the full height...

    Side cover and support channel

so i'll get the j channel from schofields and clean up and patch the side panel best i can, when i refit the side cover, does it get a fillet of filler to fill the gap and stop water getting in?

    Side cover and support channel

how about the side of though van though, anyone know if that panel is available? looks like it might be difficult to fabricate my own as it has a joggle on the lower edge. can't see it in the schofield catalogue, but haven't looked online yet.

    Side cover and support channel

I'm cutting full size windows in to the side of the van and have just the right hand rear one to go, the small window that is already fitted had rust around the lower edge, so to have a better look i have removed the side cover (non door side) and can now see that there is a lot more rust than i...

    Handbrake cable touching wheel rim

I had to replace the flexi brake hoses for the mot and when i was laying on my back under the van I noticed that the right rear hand brake cable was touching the wheel rim. It is running 4.5J Et39 vauxhall carlton wheels, but i don't think this is much different to stock. are they just tight...

Sliding door cover (other side) removal

I'm trying to take the sliding door runner exterior cover off - the bit on the outside of the van, and also need to take the one off the non door side. it is a x-over '72, and i've taken the three screws out that you access from underneath but it isn't budging. it looks like there is a rubber...

    crank pulleys

recently fitted a scat one and although i read some poor reviews after buying it, i went for it anyway. no leaks yet. i did have to fit a spacer ring which came with it to get the alignment right though. used white paint to mark the timing If i was to but again i'd probably go for a genuine...

    SVDA dizzy question

thanks Just, i initially timed it at 7.5 deg btdc with the hose on and checked the max advance which was more like 40deg. then i thought it would be better to check the max advance with the hose off as throttle position/manifold vacuum would be varying under load. retarded the timing so that...
