I'm in need of a new/ recon 1600cc engine replacement in the derby area , sick of it being sent away and coming back to me still leaking oil or further damaged please help !!

Where did you get your current one that you are having issues with or is it an old unit? I am in the same pickle I have been looking at Steve strong and the othe one on eBay that sells recons

I would research Steve Strong before you make any decisions.

I got mine rebuilt by Robert Parry in Wisbeech, very happy with it.

You could also contact Vintage Dan on here as he does engines and I've heard good things.

I've had to have the flywheel reset using liquid metal due to a bad job done by a garage and it just leaks oil from everywhere it can , all the ancillerys are new but the oily bits are getting ridiculous , I'll look up who you suggested though thanks

It is a minefield! I'm sure VW Heritage engines are very good but they should be for £2k!

I may be looking for one soon but have read good and bad reports about virtually everyone!

Any other recommends?

If its just a flywheel thsts easy enough to change and fit a seal?

Is it a fairly new engine?

Would seem a shame to give up on motor with decent bits in it. Could just crack it open and have a look.
