Taking the heads off my engine friday evning as im suffering a few engine problems.
Anyone know what the deck height should be set at please?

Rich

check to see if the heads have the deck height 'built in' some do, then you can almost go level with the top of the cylinder, allowing 0.15 -0.2 mm for piston rock....

if you can be bothered make or buy a cc kit so you know what the volume of the chamber in the head is - then you can plug the numbers into the various engine calcs and determine your CR...

think std heads are around the 50cc mark??

Cheers again.
Am i going to be able to do this job with the engine in situ?

I don't think you can take the barrels off in situ. so you can probably check the deck height
but not alter it as this needs spacers at the base of the barrels. To check it you will need to bolt down the barrel using some spacers (sockets work well). Then a (very) straight edge
and some feeler gauges.
