Hi there - I've been visiting the forum for a while now, posted a question for help last night, thanks to everyone that dropped in to read.

Not quite living the dream yet - bought the van back end of April this year, was hoping to have been on the road last week. All formalities have been completed, MOT, DVLA inspection etc...only for all my documents to go missing in the post so I can't get my number plate sorted. I know it will be on an 'H' plate but thats it. Just a bit frustrating! But I guess vans are all about patience...

This site I fantastic, so thanks to all behind it and the contributors. Loads of useful information, as a van virgin I've already found it very helpful.

About the van:-

1970 Kombi - Italian spec - will be on H plate...eventually
Only 2 previous owners, last one for 20 years.
Was repainted approx 15 years ago in original colour (light grey)
Has original interior - which is in amazing condition - aside from some marking only one small tear in the drivers seat.
Solid underneath - still wearing original underseal - a job to do before our climate ruins it!
Has the normal dings and dents but nothing too bad.

Heres a picture of my van

Hello and welcome 8) love the clean look of your van, just needs slamming and your all set

Hi and welcome. :D

Lovely bus!

I had a late bay ex Italian firebus, with only 6000 miles on the clock. I guess those repeaters you mention must be a requirement in Italy, as mine had those too, infact now I think of it my late bay Devon had them also.:D

Hi Nigel, your bus looks in good condition, and with it kept in an italian climate there wont be too much hidden secrets either.

Welcome to EB 8)

Hi,

Pleased to say all docs found by DVLA - including service book going back to 1970s and original 70s reciept for the tow bar - all in Italian!

Number plates sorted we are on the road. I've bought a few add ons...

new photo...before and after...

Spot the differences?

Hope you like...

Yes! Very smart indeed! Looks just the job! 8)

Some pictures of freshened up interior...work in progress!

Foams from the http://foamshop.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - very helpful, knowledgeable and patient.

Coverings and doors cards from http://www.newtoncomm.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - very pleased with these.

Front seat covers fitted by a local trimmer – they did a great job.

All are local companies to me and nice people to speak to and deal with. Made it easy to go in to discuss what I was after, see the products and take the van round to get measured.

Cheers, Nigel
