Had a trip over to the outskirts of Oxford yesterday to see my mate known as Metal Dave. As the weather was nice we went out in his beetle…..

Finished the oil cooler install today, should work nicely 😀

Just need to make some new lines up
Hi K@rlos, could you take one or two pics directly from the underside of the oil cooler ? I plan to install a 96 rows (Length - 12 3/4" X Width -11") oil cooler as I plan to get rid of the stock oil cooler. Do you think that a 96 rows oil cooler could be installed or not ? I want to install it like you've done as I have Belly pans and I don't want to cut those.

Mines only a 72 row and that’s a tight fit, I don’t think a 96 will fit but I’ll have a measure up tomorrow. Why are you wanting to delete the doghouse?

To have all the fresh air for head cooling.
I didn’t take any pics but I had a measure up and I think you’ll be limited on space for a cooler that size. My cooler was between the chassis rails but was flat so didn’t really do anything but like I said before it was a last minute temp thing which got left. Another reason I moved it was to get the line length less, I’ve lost about 4ft in the lines since moving it

Will need to counter sink the bosses 4mm so the foggers screw in further but that’s no big deal. Will give the insides a polish too
