Hi all

Been on here a while now but never made a thread up so thought I might as well. Karmann Konnection sourced and imported f my bus for me when I was 18  had it 5 years in which there has been many good & bad times. Enjoy

Driving my first Volkswagen home from South end aged 18 :bliss:

Pooter is being an arse and keeps crashing whenever i try posting more pics. Will get that sorted and post more asap

All seemed good for over a year....

Then disaster stuck :(

My superb little 1600 twinport (all be it not the OG lump) spat an oil gallery plug out and seized  To replace this I had a brief flirtation (9 months) with a TES 1600 recon lump which had a mild cam, twin Weber 36 IDF's and a 4 into 1 exhaust.... This motor proved to be THE BIGGEST pile of s*it ever made, leaked oil, was noisy (internal) and then f*cked itself completely  Whist the bus was motor less again I decided to go over the whole bus and fix or replace everything I could find that was amiss.

Something which had always haunted my bus was electrics, whist going over the loom I discovered how truly kippered the electrics were

A new loom was needed...

Got the 'plug in' jobbie from Rapid-Fit looms, the name could not have been less fitting :suicide:

Knocked a home brewed electric washer system too :D

Because the new loom was based on a Euro spec bus it allowed me to fit Euro rear lights without worrying about running extra wires.

Got bit by the lowering bug, a stock width BJ beam was only ever be a short term thing

After a long and slow battle I sorted everything and it passed the MOT with 1 advisory for play in the steering box

Had a messy but worth while time with Waxoil too.

After many, many hours of pestering me I caved in and let my good friend and electrical god Charlie install a thumping sound system which consists of a Kenwood head unit, 5 Fli tri-axial speakers, Fli 1200 watt amp and a Sony Xplode 1200 watt sub.

Mot time came around again, failed on a dim number plate light and split ball joint boots

When the TES lump went bang I picked up a complete expect for carb & exhaust 1600 TP for £140, I stripped it, cleaned it and resealed. Done nearly 12000 miles now without any real issues expect for a dodgy set of points and a naffed carb which I got refurbed by Pete at Cogbox.

Thanks mate, although I was never really happy with the body work because it had a shocking blow over in the states which after 4 UK winters was looking ropey, so.....

I went and saw my mate Dan
