I'm looking to get the wheel alignment done on my slightly lowered van, is there anything I need to tell the garage doing it? Can anybody recommend a garage in Leicester to have it done?

Front wheel alignment is easy enough on a moderately lowered van, the rear will probably have them scratching heads though.

I think you'll struggle to find anywhere that will want to carry out the alignment, most modern equipment won't fit our buses.
I've used a motorsport garage that specialises in setting track car alignments, or find an old school "backstreet" mechanic with a set of Dunlop tracking gauges.

Or, you might try and do it your self. If you have the patience, it’s fairly straight forward. You will need somewhere fairly flat , concrete is good
Run two pieces of taught string parallel with your rear wheels as near to central as you can and parallel with ground then measure from string to the front and rear of your front wheels / tyres and then adjust accordingly. Obviously get everything lubed and cleaned up first to make adjustments easier. When you set up the two string lines must be exactly parallel, not nearly but exactly. Your wheels / tyres should be pointing straight ahead and only just a mill or two in at the front, so just slightly pigeon toed. When you’ve finished getting it just right, roll the van back about a wheel revolution and roll it forward again and re set your lines and check again. Next time I do mine, I’ve got a couple of lasers I might play with at the same time to see if it’s easier than using watering cans and concrete blocks to set up the lines nice and tight.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, it’s easier to do than to explain
