!600SP Vs 1600DP

Hi

Probably an age old question. What are the pro/cons for 1600sp Vs 1600dp- stock engine other than running Dual Weber ICT 34.

I'm running the 1600sp in my Beetle but want to put it in a camper whilst I build a big engine for the Beetle. I also have a 1600tp.

I like the SP- but not sure how it might perform in a Bus.

What are people's experiences of a SP in a bus?
 
Mine's fine - There's some graphs somewhere on here that shows the SP develops a little bit more torque at low revs.
 
I'd prefer to use the SP in the bus and the TP in the beetle.

SP has more torque, TP has more power. There's not a huge amount in it though, probably worth an afternoon's work at most ;-) Because the van's heavier, it'll work a bit better with the extra torque- and let's face it, you'll be going faster in the beetle.
