'71 dash top

I want to repaint my dash top. Do I have to remove the windscreen to get it out? I don't know if it fits under the windscreen rubber.

NO but its a lot easier to get to the screws if you do.

Like 67 says access is easier with the screen out but with a stubby driver or a fexi drive you will have no problems.

Front edge of the dash is secured by @ 6 nuts accessed from underneath, I found it easier to get to these with clocks, radio and glove box inner removed. Took my dash top to the local blasters and had it powder coated, means it wont scratch too easily now. Only trouble is it shows up the lower part now -Doh! :?
