Wow that's uncanny man! I posted the same picture in the early hours today on the Volkszone site thread I have on the Bus. check it out http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/showthread.php?t=653897" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I love this shot too :D There will be plenty more like this photo to come, you can be sure of that!

She's home with Chris I hear. I'm sure a plethora of pictures will follow...

That picture (on the dolly) was from spring of '08 I think.

Another couple pictures from that fateful day:

Notice that right rear wheel - that's where the dog relieved himself for several years...The rim was swollen with rust and the hubcap was completely shot. And that brown box behind the center seat...that was the rebuilt transmission, from MOFOCO, been there close to 20 years - now installed in the bus.

Sweet man! I love it! BTW, the McMaster for Governor sticker, that's my uncle, ran (and lost) for governor of SC just recently. I'll have to send him a picture of his 'international support.'

Glad all is well. Take it easy man!

I think you may need to remove the anti roll bar if you keep it that low. They stop very quickly when they get caught on things  .

Sweet van, love the paint and stance. 8)

I ran without the bar briefly..It seems to cantilever between the ground and the beam which keeps the beam and tires from bottoming out. I only ran it like that for a couple days..It's a lot smoother with the bar hitting the ground than the beam hitting the ground on bumps and scrubbing the tires around corners. Removing it would definately improve clearance, but causes more tire rub. If Chris were to narrow the beam it'd be a different situation.

I love this Bus! We are gonna call her 'Pati' as she has so much patina! I wanted to call her 'Gene' after the previous owner before Gregg, but the missus insisted on Pati, so 'Pati' it is. Might suggest 'Pati G' as a compromise.
Gregg, I will be keeping all the cool stickers and preserving the Bus as is. That's cool about your Uncle, sorry he missed out this time. As for the anti-roll bar, it's pretty well scraped so I will see how she drives and then make a decision. Thanks for the advice tho fellas, it is always welcome.
Another patina shot for you, this bus got buckets full of the stuff.

Been cleaning the seat covers today and replacing the Generator.
More pics to follow

I'm glad you're happy with the bus man. It's a heck of a bus. I like the name too. We always called it "Gene's bus." His family and my parents used to use the bus kind of like a party bus - load everyone up and just go have fun. I hope you and your family have lots of great times cruising in "Pati G".

Glad you like the name Gregg. We will be having loads of fun in this bus. It's already started as my crew were gagging to get cleaning the seats and seatbelts. I found all 9 belts in the bus, all original VW too!
Here's some shots of what we did today.
Replaced the Geny, exhaust and fuel line. And temp repaired the go pedal! (thanks for the replacement pedal G)

N/S brake caliper was contaminated with water. You can see rust on the bleed nipple and around the caliper chamber lip. Strip down and damage check tomorrow.

At home. Once the other bus is done and sold I will be keeping 'Pati G' in the garage.
