Those wheels look stunning especially with fresh rubber!

I notice you've removed your rear side markers, could I be cheeky and ask you to measure where the mounting holes are? I want to add a set of them to my bus but am not sure of the correct positioning, thanks in advance Paul

Ill try to get that tomorrow for you

I made the spare tire mounting bracket yesterday. With the cost of these wheels rising, I wanted to be able to secure the spare for both security and safety. I had set of really nice black anodized original Porsche alloy wheel locks so I incorporated one of them into the bracket design. The wheel is now nice and tightly secure and locked 8)

I purchased these factory Porsche wheel locks recently for the wheels that hit the the road.

I had a set of custom adapters made as well , but unfortunately when they arrived they were made incorrectly so I'm waiting for another set to arrive after sending the first set back. I mocked up the wheels to roughly where they will sit (width wise). I am really liking how the back wheels and tires fill up the inner fender wells. It took me a bit of time, but I think I will be keeping it this way rather than narrowing.

I also spent the better part of a week and a half cleaning the inner fender wells, engine bay and frame. To say that it was messy and tedious would be an understatement!

I'm starting the rear notches today :msn4:

 I can't believe how clean your bus is on the underside! Very, very nice! And perfect wheels choice by the way! ;)

:bliss: yay!!!!! He's back!!!!!
Where you been ???? I thought you'd forgotten about us lot on here??!!!!

I've been working around the house, working on a few other busses and had a couple of upholstery jobs to complete. I'm hitting this bus hard now. I'm just finishing up the rear notches and going to get ready to paint them. It's alot of work but my plan is to have this bus done sometime in late July. Stay posted here!

Adapter arrived yesterday, special made for a bus. 5x112 to 5x130, 15mm thick, 66.56mm center bore hole with conical lug recesses. these place the the Fuchs on the rear within 2mm of the Cosmics and tuck the fronts 7mm more. I hope to paint the rear notches today or tomorrow.

A few days ago I ended pulled out the paint gun and blended the metal work for the 1" beam raise mod. I re-seamed sealed the front inner fender wells this morning.

The new battery tray also got a spray to match.

I've also finished up the rear notches. I tried to keep the paint pattern to match the original overspray as much as possible. I seam sealed the outside of the fishplate as well to match the rest and to make sure no moisture gets in between the boxed in section and it.

Finally got to start assembly with the powder coated stuff and the CAD hardware :party0009:

Beam is in, but I wasn't happy with how the shocks sat on such a goofy angle ( and close to the frame) with the bus sitting lower with the smaller front tires. So I took them off and made some new shock mounts. The shocks will now sit straight up and down. They're out to be welded now and I will post pics once they're back. Brake booster, tested, cleaned up, painted like factory and installed. New master cylinder, drag link, steering damper, e-brake cables etc etc etc

Being that I had to change up the ducting to accommodate the beam raise, the original insulation blanket would no longer fit. So I decided to wrap the ducting with black fibreglass exhaust wrap to insulate it. The kit also came with stainless tie wraps to hold the ends tight.

Rear suspension is now in. I just need to re assemble the rear bearing carriers.

Transmission is re sealed and painted, new starter installed.

New engine bay lining in too

Frame all polished up. OG paint

I got the lower control arm back. When I made the new shock mounts I decided to go a bit bigger and bulkier to make sure they wouldn't cause me problems. Now the shock sits perfectly vertical instead of on an angle commonly found and I don't have to worry about the lower shock bolt fowling up against the frame. It should extend the life of the shock and definitely can't be bad for the ride. I just mocked up the shock with some small bolts to make sure its all ok. :D

Got the motor and transmission in. I also painted the bracket I made for the fuel pump and relay. I found an NOS VW fuel pump relay in my stash of stuff so I used it. I made a custom hard fuel line fuel line as well. I just thought it looks cleaner to have it tucked up out of the way. I over pressure tested it with air to 65 PSi so the 3 psi the fuel pump puts out all should be good and I know ahead of time it won't leak.

I've tried to use only OG hardware

Absolutely perfect! First place if you asking me! :anim_19: I would be happy if I had the same speed like you on the build of my bus!
Best regards
