71 VW Cali Import Tin Top Westy, tax free and MOT till March 2010. Went straight through the last 2 tests with no advisory's.
Imported by Kieft en Klok July 2007, Extremely solid van with original interior inc westy stool. The only bit missing is the front cab bunk.
Finished in the original colours of Chianti red with white roof. It has had some paint at some point in its life. One side is very good while the drivers side is duller and looks as though it has been parked next to bushes as it is scratched.
I bought the van from Kieft en klok in November 2007 for £9000 which included K&K lowering it on drop spindles, Fitting new wheel bearings, 4 new firestone tyres, recovering the front seats in Red and White Vinyl, replacing the brake pipes, pads & shoes, new steering arms and steering box. New Carb
Once I got it home I fitted the following new parts:
240v hook up with 2 plug sockets
Zig unit inc charger
leisure battery
12v socket
JVC head unit with IPOD connection, original stereo still in dash position
New curtains
Bosch Battery
Bosch Coil
Fuel regulator
Hella H4 RHD headlights
All new door seals
Tailgate and engine cover seals
Brand new VW mexico 1600 twin port engine (now done 3000 miles)
Clutch
Starter Motor
2ND hand Fuel Tank from FBI with new fuel gauge sender
The underside is rust free. It was cleaned and then treated with POR15 rust preventative paint.
I replaced the old sagging wooden head liner with a new one in baltic birch ply.
The vans drives superbly and needs nothing. Its ready to go camping. Included in the sale is the 3 bow roof rack and Royal Traveller Tunnel Awning which sleeps 2.
Had some great trips away in this van and its never let me down. Only selling due to our babys impending arrival. (Due tomorrow!!)
