Hi everybody!
Some time is gone since my last post, but I'm still working hard to get the westy back on the street!
The tailgate got his final paint. I know, it's not perfect, but I'm happy with the result! We did all the work in the backyard from my parents, so I would say it looks not too bad!

The engine lid
After painting, I've grinded the fresh paint with some 1200 sandpaper. After grinding, I gave the paint a good polish!
At the engine I had some troubles to mount the engine mounting bar with the full flow oil pump.
First I had to cut off some steel.
Then I made a custom piece of steel.
Then started the welding.
And finally powdercoated and mounted on the engine.
Now the engine is nearly done. Only the carburetor need a rebuild.
I got the right intermediate plates for the rear bumper from a guy from Berlin. First I had the wrong ones from a Split. One the pic you can see the difference...

The wheels are out the house to get some black paint.
I got also a set of original porsche central caps from my buddy Walter.
I had the great pleasure, to drove his 164 hp bug to the Luftkraft DynoDay! This engine is pure ****! Walter put all his knowledge from 40 years of racing in this car! I had the whole day a big smile on my Face, thanks Walter!
Was a great meeting, with great cars and really cool people from Switzerland and Germany!
Have a nice weekend!
Cheers
