Have the complete air conditioning system from a 76 bay window bus.

Will this bolt into a 68 ?

I know there needs to be brackets for engine to mount the compressor.

Did 68 have an option for AC so I might be able to find factory brackets for compressor?

Thanks for help

wow didnt know such an option existed.....dont see why it wouldnt transfer across as long as you can replicate the drive for the compressor and the air con rad. Out of interest where is the radiator mounted?

Here is a similar set up to what I have.

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=756573" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I will have the bus home this weekend so I can tell you where then

wow thats very interesting - looks like rad will go between chassis rails then. Reason i asked is i have a compressor on my subaru engine which i will use to run my air suspension and was wondering about duelling it with some air con too.

Surprisingly the Compressor looks like a York compressor common to early Merc and volvos too and also exactly the same as I have (i ditched the subaru one as its not independtently lubed - hence no good if your not using freon...but using it to pump air)

thanks for the info.

No problem

Not sure I will jump into trying to add it but I might?

I will see what it is going to take and how much work?

And what has to be cut and drilled?
