Alternators

Basically my alternator shaft bearings have gone and making a hell of a racket.

I see the Bosch 55amp alternator and others, but what is the best one out there?

A tech question, my existing alternator has the main post and nut but also has three spade connectors rather than just the one which the new one has.

Any one know why or what they are for as all are connected? :evil:

My old one bad the three spades. I think it was because it had an external regulator and the single spade ones have an internal regulator

Did you change yours to an internally regulated one or just keep it as it was?

I changed to an internal one, I have the old one in bits as the intention is to repair it at some point but I need to find a decent rear plate for it as the knackered bearing enlarged the hole
