I am having 2 of my rear 14'' steel wheels banded (properly..) by 1 inch just to make them a little wider 8) 8) (vanity rather than anything else...).

I'm running 185 70 R14s tyres at the back. The question is should I increase my tyre size?

Looking at the possible options:

Stay the same size with 185 70's or change to:

185 75's (dia increase by 18mm against same rim width)
195 65's (dia reduces by 6mm against '' '' '' '')
195 70's (dia increases by 14mm '' '' '' '')
205 70's (dia increases by 28 mm ''' '' '' '')

Under normal circumstances the Diameter would increase by choosing the 70's but I'm guessing they wouldn't on the wider rim as they would need to spread out over the extra inch ?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated Dude's as I'm confusing myself !

Cheers ;)
