thanks for all the replies, knew i could rely on you lot :D

austin im very interested in your bumper can you send me some pics and price please, also dibs dependent on pics etc!

they look nice and snug against the bum of an EB, I think I'd prefer that look to the gaping gap around the back of a standard bumper. If you're looking side on as well,in a way ,the slash cut matches more to the front bumper step contour. they both go __________

if you know what I mean :?

Why not try No More Rusty Bits.... They make grp bumpers. Ive used them and think they are good.

Post your rear end with pride..............i thought it was only cross dressers that didnt take pictures of the rear end. ;)

"move on , move on nothing to see around here...get back round the front end it looks pretty from that angle" (said in a Police moving on unwanted on lookers type voice)

point taken compared to the back end one of those fat beasts, she does look hot

i dident mean that onest

The splitty ones are available brand new quite cheaply, and will fit if you use OG early bay brackets and do some careful measuring and drilling. Domed coach bolts (similar to the ones used on stock bumpers) are available quite easily as well from plumbers merchants, diy shops etc etc

GRP bumpers, hmm I don't get it, does it class as an oxymoron? The rear bumpers tend not to rot (hot climate imports tend to have the rear bumpers missing as apparently it improves cooling) , its only early cab steps that seem to be prone to rust. If they do GRP splash pans than thats a different story. The thing that worries me is if someone rolls into a steel bumper it'll do no damage, or at worst a scuff (or maybe a dent if you've got a repro bumper) but if someone smacks a GRP bumper you've got a lot more work on to try and fix it (if its at all salvageable)

i did look at their site and considered a grp item then as you mention above, the bumper is supposed to be quite substantial so a steely one will be what gets fitted.........eventually!!

do the splitty bumpers reach around towards the arches the same distance as the early bay bumper?

They are pretty much the same I think. You might need to do some fettling if you intend to fit the two side bolts. As I had no splash pans for mine I got some really long gutter bolts from plumb centre, put a bit of a bend in them and we were sorted.

I think 'easy' on here has GRP bumpers, from what I recall they look pretty nice.

I may get some stick for this, but.....whats the difference between split/early/xover?

split have slash cut ends where bays are a diamond type profile,im sure the crossovers just have the mounting holes in a diff place
