Hi all, need to make a decision on cab curtains! I have the curtains ready, all the other curtains are up by silent gliss rail. I would do pop studs on the cab area if I had to, but prefer the curtain rail.

Don't relish the idea of trying to bend silent gliss around the cab & windscreen - anyone tried it? Any tips please?

I wouldent bother, more hastle that its worth, just get a thermo mat from bluebird.

I raised a Q on this a few months ago, as found bending the rail impossible.... got advise that the holes should be at the top (I had been trying with holes lower) and with a new piece ordered it bent really easily to shape as previous poster advises, just bend over your knee.

Really happy with finished result, much better than poppers.

ive got curtain material with press studs but never used it so far - just use the bluebird screen cover

Same here. I opted to use thermo mats suckered to the cab windows instead, which has proven to be much neater and nice and toasty.

same here ^^^

i aquired some front screen rails but havnt even tried to fit them as the thermo mats are so easy to use and very tidy looking imo

Ok chaps, thanks! I have the curtains already made so might as well get them to match the rest of the bus.

So it seems just a case of going easy then.

Next question.... Cheapest place for Silent gliss?

Cheers, Rob

not sure if they're cheapest but heard good things...post limit length is 1.5m though...

Check out swish visa curtain track. It's plastic and it's cheaper. Being plastic I suspect it easier to fit too.

hiya

had fun with this recently, tried bending it carefully but cracked one section ( still used that section for above back door just cut bad bit out).
Second try round so cut the flat part off the rail found two pieces of alluminum to fit inside rail and slowly bent the rail so it keeps the shape of the track with the packing pieces in place, its a 90' bend and also changes angle as well from above door to above windscreen,

hope this helps, Pete

Thanks Pete,it does! That was my concern, rippling the flat bit above the rail.

Thanks for the tips,I'll go & check them out. Thinking that I could warm the plastic rail up and bend it to shape?!?

Interesting.

I fitted the rail a little further up from the windscreen so its tucked up/touching the visors and hence it screws on much closer to vertical - hence no issue with the flange - simply left it on. It bridges over the mirror stalk.
