Cheers - Rob

I'm not sure about chrome scripts, but check out Rich Oakley's very original Dormobile here. :D

The scripts changed in August 70, from the 'Dormobile' badge to the 'D4/6' badge.

Ah! thats interesting. when I bought this Dormy of its owner from new, he said it had 'Dormobile' just under the front mirrors, although after having them nicked years ago, he had the holes filled and sprayed over later on.
like to get them replaced for its return to glory!
SO what did 4/6 refer to , the layout? where there other versons on a VW?

I have what you are talking about on my van.

I plan to refurbish my doors and i will get the chrome redone and then fit the new infills.

Just an update in case anyone funds this on a search....

I called Jim at Domobile & they do not have any build records at all.however he tells me the early bays had the cab door script like late splits for a short time, then they went for the plastic chrome badge with 'dormobile' insert.

Therefore that's what fitted.....
