well i now have all the bits to fit my oil cooler, i would be interested if anyone has fitted one and if there are any do's or dont's?

iam running a type 4 and will use a sanwhich plate so my plumbing will start from the filter area. can i assume that the shorter the run the better, less oil for a start and faster warm up time.
should i aim to fit the cooler no higher than the stock unit?
well thats a few q's to start a topic i hope

Oil thermostat?
Pressure relief valve?

will be useing an oil stat, dont think i need a relief vavle but tell me if you no why i should.

the oil stat i have runs at 10% open even with cold oil, this is to stop cold shock a problem that
ive been told is caused by some stats that are fully shut until oil is hot.
iam running a stock pump just for info,

ok so this one died. :(
if any one knows of any sites on tinternet that has info on fitting an oil cooler to a type 4 engined bay?

well i have searched web and answered all my questions :) i plan to start the install in the next few weeks i will post a few pictures up on here for any one else who is looking into fitting a cooler , it may help
