The title says it all, the battery light is coming on and my bus is running rough when I slow down to idle. A quick press on the gas turns the light off and stops the stuttering so she hasn't stalled yet but it feels like she wants to. There's no issues with starting each time.

Our battery is on its way out so the plan was going to be to replace it anyway - could this be it or could it be the alternator? Any thoughts welcome.

Cheers, Pete

Sounds like your idle is too low. That can cause the gen light to come on if it detects that the alternator speed is too low and not putting out the correct voltage. If this is the case then it is entirely possible if you have electronic ignition and electric fuel pump that the ignition will falter and the pump will be intermittent. If you have mechanical pump and standard ignition then you can still get poor fuel pressure and intermittent spark due to it running too slow.

What is your idle speed? Do you have a rev counter? Could possibly just do with a tune up.
