Beetle gearbox or 6 rib

Evening peeps
Dose anybody on this forum have any experience of driving a earlybay with a beetle gearbox fitted with the French slammer adapter kit ?
I was advised to source a AH code gearbox for better cruising with the 1770cc engine that I've had fitted but didn't realise at the time that I also needed a adapter kit , its turned into an expensive exercise and I've not got round to fitting the box as yet .
Is this worthwhile for the longer gear ? Will it make a noticeable difference to fuel and noise when cruising?
Or should Of I just bought a 6 rib box .

Got a 1303s box hooked up to my 1776, and yep the higher cruising speed is worth it

Did you use a kit of some sort to fit the beetle box ?
