25mm box section about 400mm long, 25mm angle 400mm long, couple of old nuts welded on the inside to stop the 25mm box moving. bit of strip I found in the garage fo rthe padlock bit. Took me about 45mins a few weeks ago before we went to the beach. Added the graphics and paint at a later date to make it look the part.

Every know and then I have a great idea that even impresses me, this was one of those moments... the next one will be when the trailer is finished.

I've got a kill switch under tha dash and another behind the glove box for the fuel pump.
if either or both are switched the engine will turn over but no spark and no petrol, then flat battery.
Hopefully thieving gimboids get pissed off and piss off!

I've started using one of these with locking wheel nuts

plus remove the rotor arm

Not an expert on electrics by any means but if sonmeone wanted to by pass and isolators don't they just gain access to the engine bay and connect the battery to the coil?

The theory I'm working on is that they will crank the motor, pump the accelerator, flood the shit out of it, keep cranking, smell petrol, and if the battery hasn't died by now they will just think it's a piece of old antiquated crap and move onto something else.
If they are after a VW in particular, they might have the skills to suss out my cunning plan, but in the meantime I'm protected from the opportunistic types.

Hope none of those eyesoles are online!

You've hit the nail on the head there, oportunistics are fairly simple to dissuade, its the determined aircooled thieving get that you really have to worry about, the shit that you were talking to a couple of weeks ago about what a beautiful bus you have and how much hard work it took to get it looking as it does...

 its those shysters that really boil my piss as they know fine well what is involved and know fine well the heartache bastard scumbags.....

Never thought of that but as long as they leave the bus im happy. Towbar is quite a job to remove to be honest.

This reminds me i best go and check the bus, its been on the street over night with the westy trailer hitched to it?

Strangely enough someone did try and break into my bus a couple of months back, they wrecked the passenger door lock with a screwdriver even though the drivers and sliding doors where unlocked

And Clyde we used to have special locks on our trailer hitches when I worked on the films, might be a good idea for your westy trailer.

Yeah cheers Ive just found a padlock that goes through and prevents the handel being lifted so that will sort it. Ive got a ball lock for when its not on the van so all bases covered i hope.
Cheers
