My big motor will be finished in a couple of weeks and I've decided on getting a 'built' box so I can make use of all my extra ponies... Thinking of a built 3 rib with close ratio 1st, 2nd & 3rd then a tall 4th and a tougher diff etc. Will most likely go to The Cogbox. What sort of money will I be looking at for such a box?

Karl

Ah that's not so bad! I know Pete does good work, he re bushed my Solex and built the straight cut race box in my mates race car.

I've just received my 3 rib back from Pete @ Cogbox, so now as per freeway flyer. New ring & pinion.... Cost £1100 that's without courier fees..... Ben

i ll be getting one of these :)

:? it says for bus , not that i don t believe you tho thanks i ll double check

They use beetle boxes in split screen busses with straight axle conversions.

If you look at the pic of that box against the one in the link i posted ealier you will notice the differences, the side plates are the big give away.

I like bears and will go down that route t some point, maybe even get one of their 5 gear jobbies, but they is expensive!

Hi karlos
You can get a 4.57 ring and pinion and a 0.82 4th from bears Motorsport for about £500 if you fancy rebuilding your own?

Hmm, VW gearboxes are pretty simple to build tbh, well compared to the truck boxes I do at work  It's an option I guess but dunno if I cba
