Cab door wont open from inside???

Hi all, anyone had this problem before? It is like somebody put the child proof locks on! I can open the door find from the outside, even when it is locked the key works fine but from the inside it wont open. Have taken the door panel off and checked that the release cable is functioning with the handle, but it just wont engage the mechanism that opens the door. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

probly a broken spring in lock mech,but try pulling the rod from inner handle cos it my need adjusting.have you tried pulling the inner handle and the small lock lever together ,if it opens now then rod needs shortening by puting a kink in it.there is a proper vw tool for this,look in bently manual theres a good pic.

Door mechanisms are pretty straight forward. Just pull the door card off and have a looksy.

dude i had this problem and i sorted mine like this , ... were the door release handle inside is the is a small screw to hold the surround on i losened this 2 turns and the door opened from inside but when i thightened it up again it wouldn t open , i discovered this after i had spent ages messing with the door lock mech :roll:

try it it might be the same as mine

replacement screws are slightly longer than original and foul the lock mechanism if screwed right in: pack them out with a washer or two
