Hi guys,

i'm trying to work out a bit of a budget for 2weeks camping in the south of france. the last time i was in the south of france was 5 yrs ago so bit out of date.

i was thinking about £30 per night but thinking that this may be a little excessive.

what are your thoughts/experiences???

will be going from 15th june till 30th, so looking like we will fall into the MID-SEASON bracket.

looking around at some places i've been before they are charging about 20-25EUROS for a night in camper with up to 2 adults. then 5EUROS if you want electric hookup

We saw prices upto 50 euros a night in peak season last summer, but generally paid around 30. Be prepared, South of France will skint you!

i'm aware that the south of france with skint me, lol. probably as much as the fuel will cost me to get down to the south lol.

mind you, i dont think we will be going to the south-east - nice, frejus, st tropez, cannes, monaco. we've done those before.

I agree 20 to 25 for 2 and leccy is a good figure to budget.

As posted the prices can vary enormously depending on where you are and what kind of site it is.

Large (ghastly imo) coastal sites with loads of facilities are pricey (50 - 80) but as you go inland you can find nice small sites with all the basics for a fraction of the cost (12 - 20).

Camping a la ferm can be very cheap too and then there are "aires", where its free, though with those your not much different from facilities found in wild camping  - hence they are more suited to the ever growing numbers of great big plastic/ally "coachbuilt" camping cars that have their own facilities on board.
